Looks like “The Dark Knight Rises” movie has not only taken over the box office, but the Billboard 200 music chart in its first week! Hey music fans, welcome back to ClevverMusic. “The Dark Knight Rises” soundtrack has debuted in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart, which ranks top-selling albums across all genres. Not surprising to us, the most anticipated movie of the year “The Dark Knight Rises” has snagged #8 on the chart, with its Hans Zimmer produced soundtrack. Not bad for its debut week.

The soundtrack sold 33,000 copies and counting in the first week of release, pretty good for a superhero movie and an album that has no lyrics at all. Further, the Water Tower Records album marks the first top 10 album from a “Batman” movie since 1997’s “Batman & Robin” soundtrack flew to #5. That album included singles from Smashing Pumpkins, R. Kelly, and the Goo Goo Dolls.

Beating out “The Dark Knight Rises” movie score was Nas with new album “Life is Good”, which debuted at #1, and Zac Brown Band’s “Uncaged” slipping to #2 on the chart.

What do you think of “The Dark Knight Rises” soundtrack gaining momentum on the Billboard chart? Cool or uncool? Leave us a comment. Be sure to subscribe to ClevverMusic for more music news, see you next time.
