Madonna’s August 1 concert will show a WWII clip to appease concert protestors! Welcome back to your source for music news, ClevverMusic. Madonna is currently on her MDNA world tour right now. Her upcoming August 1 show in Warsaw, Poland has been under protest from a Catholic group offended by her usage of religious images during previous shows, and by the fact that she will perform on an important day in Polish history.
According to Business Week, in order to appease protestors, Live Nation has agreed to open the concert with a clip about the historic Warsaw Uprising, a revolt against Nazi occupation in 1944. The clip will serve as tribute to the vets on the 68th anniversary of the rebellion. Every year, the anniversary of the revolt which killed 200,000 Polish people and destroyed the city, is commemorated with the wailing of a siren, moment of silence, and prayer in church.
Do you think this is a fair compromise for Madonna and the Polish in Warsaw? Leave us a comment and tell us what YOU think. Be sure to subscribe to ClevverMusic for daily music news, see ya!
