Band Coldplay is getting the comic book treatment! Hey guys, you’re tuned in to ClevverMusic. Uber successful band Coldplay has announced via their website that they are getting into the comic book business, and what better place to debut then at Comic-Con in San Deigo? The comic will be a six-part series based on a character from their current album, 2011’s Mylo Xyloto, and will go on sale at Comic-Con 2012 this week!
The series is co-written by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Mark Osborne who is credited for Kung-Fu Panda. Chris Martin and the band revealed this concept was born three years ago writing, “…gradually from mylo’s story and universe came together and this ended up providing the backdrop for the album and tour…” And rumor has it that Chris Martin wifey Gwyneth Paltrow may or may not make an animated appearance in the series.
The following issues of the comic will be available early 2013 and will be published by Bongo Comics Group. No doubt this may come as a surprise to many Coldplay fans as many bands don’t often dabble into geek culture. Now it’s your turn, let us know what you think of Coldplay going nerdy?
