Bad news for Rihanna fans, the pop singer has cancelled a show! You’re tuned in to ClevverMusic. Barbados beauty Rihanna lost her grandmother Clara “Dolly” Braithwaite last week, and as a result Contact Music reports she has pulled out of the Rock in Rio festival in Madrid, Spain.
The ‘Where Have You Been’ singer was slated to headline the fest Thursday July 5th, and now the organizers are being forced to offer a refund to fans for the cancelled act.
This news comes on the wake of Rihanna’s lackluster performance at Sweden’s Peace & Love Festival this past weekend, just after she learned of her grandmother’s passing. Many concertgoers actually walked out of the disappointing performance, and some claimed she was drunk.
We wish the best for Rihanna as she copes with this loss. No doubt it’s tough to deal with personal issues when you have to perform in front of live audiences every week. The singer paid tribute to her grandmother via Twitter, “Goodbye #grangranDolly get your beauty rest until I see you.”
Rihanna is scheduled to perform this weekend at the Wireless Festival in London, and we’ll see if she is well enough to play this show.
